.THE BETTER LIFE PROJECT.
Regarding the current situation of the underprivileged hill tribe children in Thailand, there are a large number of boys and girls waiting for assistance. They are in poor or separated families, orphaned and uneducated. Some parents of them died from drugs problem, HIV infection or murder. Some are very poor from the economic crisis so that they cannot support their children's education. The children lack the opportunity to continue higher education and appropriate rising, which may cause problems in community, society or country as well.

Jalae village is one of Lahu & Akha origins village, located 16 km outside Chiang Rai city, Thailand. The people in the village are poor and have problems to live, because many families don't have any land for agriculture. Many people go to Chiang Rai city to work, but have got very low income because they have not been educated. So the par-ents cannot support their children's education.
The children here go to school for 3 to 8 years, but the school is far from the village, about 2 to 3 km. They walk to school everyday. But one problem is that some small children are very difficult to walk everyday to school and back. The second is that after finishing local primary school, many children cannot continue to go secondary school as the secondary and higher schools are only in the city. Those are far from the village, about 16 km. Therefore if they would like to have higher education they have to pay much money for school bus and school fee.
